WELCOME TO KING CREEK LIMOUSINS WEBSITE
Last Update 8/11/2011
We (Phil and Barbara Bricknell) established King Creek Limousin stud in 1988 and celebrated 23 years of breeding Limousins in 2011.
Our females are raised under commercial conditions and we expect all females to raise calves yearly.
Through the extensive use of AI sires, both Australian and Imported bloodlines, we are concentrating more and more these days on breeding Polled cattle that are acceptable to both stud and commercial cattle breeders.
We place a high priority on producing functional and structurally sound cattle of good docility. All our calves must at weaning pass an on farm criteria, including testing for docility as well as structure and growth for age.
Buyers can be assured that all King Creek cattle continually (from weaning through to sale) are assessed to ensure they meet our high standards.
STUD HISTORY:
We started as a stud with small number of Limousin Red Angus and Limousin Red Poll heifers and a French Pure Bull. These genetics instilled both milk and finishing ability in their off spring. These traites are still found in our herd today.
Pure and French blood lined females were acquired over time, enabling us to faze out our original commercial herd as the stud expanded.
The stud was founded in 1988 in Wauchope NSW and relocated to Currabubula NSW (Tamworth District) in 1997. This move has enabled the stud to grow further.
AIMS:
We look forward to continually improve the standard of our Limousin cattle available to the market place through breeding quality males and females that are functional under stud and commercial conditions.
We strive to meet Stud and Commercial market demands for:
- Easy calving
- Polled genetics
- Docility
- Yield
- and Growth
in all the cattle we produce.
